Michael “Mike” Cox, 63, of Charles City, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at his home.

A funeral service for Mike will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City with Pastor Jane Keel from Messiah Lutheran Church officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. on Friday until the start of the service.

Michael Allen Cox was born April 17, 1953 to Virgil and Betty (Muetz) Cox in Charles City, Iowa. He attended school in Charles City and graduated from Charles City High School. After high school Mike joined the Marines. Most recently he worked for Water Tight Construction in Charles City. Mike also enjoyed shooting pool.

Mike is survived by his children: Anthony Cox of Charles City, Theresa (Jamie) O’Reilly of Prescott, Wisconsin, and Christopher Wright of Osage; siblings: Larry Cox of New Hampton, Robert Cox of New Hampton, Patti (Al) Good of Forrest City, and Ginger (Jim) Darr of Red Wing, Minnesota; five grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Linda Hickman, and Donald Cox.
