Time To Clean Out The Medicine Cabinet, Drug Take Back Day Set For October 22nd

Charles City, Iowa – National Drug Take Back day is scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd.

The initiative is designed to get unused or expired prescriptions safely disposed of in an effort to reduce theft or misuse of prescription drugs.

Charles City Police Officer Bill Vetter explains.

Officer Vetter said this program has been very successful in the past.

Officer Vetter said the drop off is free and anonymous – no questions are asked.

No needles are accepted at the drop-off.  Officer Vetter said the service is available to any area county residents.

The drug take-back program will be held at the Charles City Police Department on October 22nd from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. However, if people are unable to attend this specific event, there are other drug drop-off options.
