In a game heard right here on 951 The Bull last night the New Hampton Chickasaw volleyball team was in Waverly for a Northeast Iowa Conference match-up with the Go-Hawks.  The Chickasaws fought tough in each of the games, but was unable to get over the hump in any of them and dropped the match three games to none.  Scores from last night went 33-31, 25-22 and 25-18.  Ellie Ewert led the Chickasaw offense with 14 kills, Lauren Frerichs had 20 assists and Mya Anderson was 16-17 serving with three aces.  New Hampton volleyball is now 17-6 overall and they fall to 3-2 in NEIC play.  New Hampton’s next match will be on Tuesday at Turkey Valley.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar volleyball team hosted Dike-New Hartford last night in a North Iowa Cedar League showdown.  The Cougars were a bit overmatched against the perennial powerhouse as Sumner-Fred was swept three games to none by scores of 25-7, 25-14 and 25-16.  The Cougar volleyball team is now 20-4 overall and they fall to 5-2 in the NICL.  The Cougars will play again tomorrow in a tournament hosted by Waterloo Columbus.

It’s hard to believe, but it is already week six of the Iowa High School football season.  The third-ranked New Hampton Chickasaw football team will look to stay unbeaten tonight as they will host Crestwood.  The Chickasaws come in with an overall record of 5-0 and they are 3-0 in Class 2A District while the Cadets are 3-2 and 3-0.  You can tune into this game right here on 951 The Bull starting with a pregame at 7pm and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky football team will host West Fork tonight in a Class A District 3 contest.  It is the Huskies Homecoming game tonight.  Nashua comes in with an overall record of 2-2 on the season and they are 1-1 in District play.  West Fork is 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the District.  Kickoff for this game will be at 7pm.

The third-ranked Turkey Valley Trojan football team will take its undefeated record into tonight’s road match-up with Central Elkader.  This will be a non-district game and feature two top ten teams as Central Elkader is currently ranked sixth in the eight-man class.  The Trojans are 5-0 this season while Central Elkader is 4-1.  Kickoff for this game is also scheduled for 7pm.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar football team will be in a Class 1A District 2 match-up at home against Denver tonight.  The Cougars are 2-3 overall and 2-1 in District play while the Cyclones come in ranked seventh and they are a perfect 5-0 overall and 3-0 in District play.  Kickoff for this game will be at 7pm as well.

The South Winneshiek Warrior football team will have their Homecoming game tonight as they welcome in Central Springs for a Class 1A District 2 match-up.  The Warriors are 3-2 overall this season and they are 2-1 in District play while the Panthers come in at 3-2 and 1-2.  Kickoff for this game will also be at 7pm.

The top-ranked North Fayette Valley Tiger-Hawk football team will look to stay unbeaten tonight as they get ready for a home game against Dyersville Beckman.  North Fayette is 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Class 2a District 4 and Beckman comes in at 2-3 overall and 1-2 in District play.  Kickoff for this game will be at about 7:30.
