The New Hampton Chickasaw volleyball team was at Turkey Valley last night for a triangular meet with the Trojans and Kee High. The Chickasaws were able to defeat Kee High two games to none by scores of 25-23 and 25-12 and then defeated Turkey Valley two games to none by scores of 25-12 and 25-17. Turkey Valley lost to Kee High in their match three games to one. New Hampton volleyball is now 19-6 overall this season and they will return to action on Saturday for a tournament hosted by BCLUW. Turkey Valley drops to 5-15 this season and they will play again tomorrow night at home against West Central Maynard.
The Nashua-Plainfield Husky volleyball team was at West Fork last night for a Top of Iowa Conference match. The Huskies fought hard in each of the games, but fell short in all of them as they were swept three games to none by scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 25-20. Sydney Hanson had 18 assists and went 19-19 serving with an ace to lead the Nashua offense and Britney Holthaus led the Husky defense with 15 digs. The Nashua volleyball team is now 3-12 overall this season and they fall to 2-5 in conference play. The Huskies will look to get back on track tomorrow night at home against Saint Ansgar.
The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar volleyball team swept past Aplington-Parkersburg three games to none on the road in a North Iowa Cedar League match. Scores were a bit lopsided as the Cougars won 25-10, 25-4 and 25-13. Sumner-Fred volleyball is now 25-4 overall this season and they improve to 6-2 in the NICL. The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday when they will participate in a tournament hosted by Cedar Rapids Prairie.
The South Winneshiek Warrior volleyball team was at home last night for an Upper Iowa Conference match with Clayton Ridge. Clayton Ridge took game one 25-22 and won game two 27-25. South Winn came back to win game three 25-23 and they Clayton Ridge won the fourth game 25-17 to win the match three games to one. The Warrior volleyball team falls to 12-19 overall
