Adopt-a-Child Winterwear Drive

CC Lions Club Book Sale

The Charles City Lions Club is having their annual book sale October 22nd through the 25th at Otto’s Oasis, 1313 Gilbert St in Charles City. Wednesdays hours are from 4 too 8pm, Thursday & Friday from 9am until 8pm and Saturday from 9am until noon. Thousands of books for as little as 50 cents!

Soup & Salad Fundraiser

Future Leading Youth of Chickasaw County will be hosting a soup and salad supper with all proceeds going towards a student leadership university. The event will take place at the Chickasaw County Event Center in New Hampton on Thursday October 23rd from 5 to 7pm. To-go bowls are also available. If you have any questions, call 641-330-9713. Prices: $7 for adults $4 for 4 to 9 year olds $2 for under 4 years old.

A new exhibit celebrating the life of Iowa native Jay N. “Ding” Darling will be on display beginning October 24th, 2014 at the Milton R. Owen Nature Center, just west of Osage. Darling was a political cartoonist for the Des Moines Register in the early 1900s, and was a highly respected conservationist in North Central Iowa.  This exhibit will feature rarely seen artifacts, photos, and cartoons from Darling’s life. The exhibit will be on display through the end of December.…

It’s time for another wonderful year of Comet Cafe! They will be limiting the seating this year so the sooner you make your reservations, the better. The only way to reserve your seat is by calling the high school office at 641-257-6510. The cost is still $6 and they will be open for two seatings – 11:15 and 11:45am. TV Music Boosters Auunal Dinner/Raffle

The Turkey Valley Music Boosters will hold their annual dinner and raffle on Sunday November 2, 4 to 7pm at the Turkey Valley School cafeteria in Jackson Junction.
