Quilt of Valor Sew Day – New Hampton

February 3 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Freedom Strippers of Quilt of Valor will be hosting a SEW-IN day on
Saturday, February 3rd from 10 am to 4 pm at both quilt shops in New Hampton. This is a day of the year when all Quilt of Valor groups nationwide have a community Sew day and ask for help in making patriotic quilts. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SEW TO MAKE A BLOCK! People of all ages are welcome to come and help us with our project. Quilt of Valor members will be available to help those needing assistance.

Quilters Window and Addicted 2 Stitchin’ will have all the materials and instructions for an individual to make one quilt block and sign their name on the block. Sewing machines will also be available to use, so you do not need to bring your own. It should take between 20-30 minutes to make a block. The Freedom Strippers will then take these blocks and make quilts to award to veterans in a future presentation. Please take some time out on Saturday, February 3rd to help us honor our veterans. Twenty blocks will make one quilt. Please get your friends together and enjoy some sew good moments. Refreshment will be provided. Our goal is to make enough blocks that we can complete 4 quilts. The only cost is your time. Please give freely.
