Northeast Iowa Food Bank Distribution Wednesday in Charles City

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank (NEIFB) makes a visit to Charles City Wednesday with its March Mobile Food Pantry.

Jenn Burton with Valero Renewables of Charles City is the site coordinator. She says they’re preparing for drive-thru distribution of food from 5:30 to 6:30 pm Wednesday evening at the Youth Enrichment Center on the Floyd County Fairgrounds.

Burton notes that the Charles City mobile food pantry is one of the largest NEIFB distribution efforts, yet there are more families who could utilize the assistance provided on the first Wednesday of the month.

Burton adds that it takes over three dozen volunteers to distribute that much food.

If you can’t volunteer, Burton says there are other ways to help out

Burton says new families seeking food from the mobile pantry are welcome, but you will have to fill out an eligibility form, but that can be done while you’re waiting in line Wednesday evening.

For more information on the program or to volunteer, contact Burton at 641-220-1769.
