Charles City FFA and Comet Cafe to feed 25 families in need this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is next week and the Charles City FFA Chapter wanted to give back to families who aren’t as fortunate. That is why, former Comet and current UNI student Lauren Connell helped devise a plan to feed 20 families on Thanksgiving.

Charles City FFA also is raising honey bees at the Floyd County Fairgrounds and has harvested over 35 jars of honey to distribute to the families.

The full menu will look like this:

  • Chicken (FFA)
  • Honey (FFA)
  • Green bean casserole (from Comet Cafe)
  • Potatoes (from Comet Cafe)
  • And other Thanksgiving specific food items (Jordan River Food Pantry)

Connell teased that the chapter might be doing something similar for Christmas dinners as well. More information on this will be coming soon – check back to our website.
