Charles City Chamber ‘Holiday Lighted Parade’ scheduled; Santa House to be closed this year

Kick off the holiday season on Friday, December 4th, with the Annual Holiday Lighted Parade in downtown Charles City. Presented by Community Revitalization, the parade will begin at 6 p.m. and is open to all, free of charge. Parade entries must be lighted in some fashion. This year’s theme is “Hometown Christmas.” Masks will be required for participants and attendees this year to comply current COVID safety guidelines.

For the second year in a row, there will be a brief fireworks display from the Main Street Bridge over the Cedar River at the conclusion of the parade.

Parade line up will start at 5:30 p.m. on Blunt Street by Central Park and TLC: The Learning Center. The Santa House will be set up in the park and although Santa is not able to see visitors this year due to COVID, he will be featured in the parade and return mail left in the mail slot at the Santa House as long as there is a return address.

If you or your group is interested in being in the Holiday Lighted Parade, please contact Joanna at (641) 228-2335 or at events@charlescitychamber.com.
