Ottos Oasis named NIACC’s Entrepreneurs of the Month

Charles City’s green and floral wellspring – Otto’s Oasis – has been recognized in its 13th year of operation. More precisely, oasis owners Jeff and Lori Otto are ‘Entrepreneurs of the Month’ for October 2020. This award is given out by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center at NIACC’s campus each month to worthy business owners.

According to the center’s website:

“Jeff and Lori have grown Otto’s Oasis through hard work and perseverance – turning each setback into a pivot, learning from their experiences, and putting those lessons into action.”

Jeff was really excited to receive the award – but gives a ton of his and Lori’s business credit to the area.

Weathering the pandemic’s storm was difficult for the Oasis – as early on they had to close down the merchandise portion of their store.

Jeff hopes this award win can encourage another generation of entrepreneurs.

In the ‘What’s next for Otto’s Oasis?’ portion of the article, it reads:

“Their signature events are still on for this fall – the Home for the Holidays Open House on November 7-8 and the Poinsettia Open House on November 27, 28, and 29.”
