New Hampton’s annual ‘Holiday Open House’ to push shopping locally

The ‘shop local’ push is back in New Hampton with November 7th’s Holiday Open House. An event Mayor Bobby Schwickerath says will double as a ‘ladies shopping day’ with the ultimate goal of giving the local businesses a stimulus shot.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon on that Saturday and most of the stores will be providing shoppers with refreshments such as apple cider. And Schwickerath says the event is always populated and fun.

Schwickerath says in particular this year’s event is important. ‘Shop local’ is one of the only ways that the shops will still be here when the pandemic is something of the past.
