Floyd County Medical Center: asking staff to consider ‘Voluntary Temporary Layoff’

A FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER RELEASE:

“Dear Floyd County Residents,

The physicians and employees of FCMC are working diligently to prepare for the COVID-19 public health emergency. As part of this effort, we are fulfilling Iowa’s orders to suspend elective and nonessential surgeries. The suspension of these services has significantly impacted our revenue, while increased expenditures for pandemic supplies have increased our expenses. Today, in a proactive step to assist FCMC’s finances, I asked our staff to consider a Voluntary Temporary Layoff. The initial staff response to this request has been positive. It is very important to us at FCMC that not only are we here during the current public health emergency, but also for decades to come.

Rod Nordeng

Administrator”
