Charles City city council meeting preview (Tuesday 2/18)

The Charles City Public Library is closed today – so are the area schools. Today is President’s Day and the government-run entities are all on holiday. This is the first year the city has had President’s Day off and had to work on Martin Luther King Day – this caused some backlash around town earlier this year.

All this being said, the city council will convene tomorrow, February 18th at 5:45 p.m. for their bi-weekly meeting. The highlights will be:

The board will approve the financials for the city of Charles City and CC Public Employees health plans.

A public hearing will occur on considering the maximum tax dollars from certain levies for the city’s proposed fiscal year 2020-2021 budget.

And numerous ordinances and resolutions will be discussed to close out the meeting.
