Osage offers early-retirement; creates teacher shortage

Osage schools offered early retirement this year and, low and behold, a couple teachers took the deal. According to Superintendent Barb Schwamman, this move was to create a more fruitful general fund.

Now Osage is looking into the 2020-2021 fiscal year. A food service director position is wide-open for the plucking and more hiring is on the horizon for the school system.

Schwamman says the coming news of the governmental aid could help or hinder the districts ability to hire quality teachers and support staff in the future.
