$13 million assisted living center in the works for Charles City

According to the city administrator of Charles City, we are in dire need of senior housing. This is why Steve Diers and the city were so excited when developer Mark Holtkamp approached the board and proposed a 2-phase senior living project with a $13 million price tag.

The assisted living center is set to be located across from Floyd County Medical Center and fit exactly what the city required according to their Housing Needs Assessment they took earlier this year.

The second phase of the project will be senior cottages or duplexes on South Main Street. This will create a similar but separate housing opportunity for locals to utilize.
