A semi collides with moving train in 4-vehicle pileup near Floyd

The world lost traction in the early morning in Floyd County yesterday – as snow dumped endlessly from the sky. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office first responded to a smaller highway rear-end that caused $10,000 in estimated damage and only minor injuries all around.

This slip-slide act was followed up at the 150th St. railroad crossing as a semi attempted to stop for a train. The semi was rear-ended and rammed straight into the moving train by another equally sized vehicle. Two more semis approached the scene, similarly unable to stop, and plowed into the already-docile semis. Minor injuries were sustained and one passenger was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The full damages is estimated at over $150,000.
