Logan Luft’s memory lives on through new organ donor legislation

Charles City, Iowa –  A Charles City family is using their son’s memory to help promote organ donation through the Iowa Legislature.

The bill called ‘Logan’s Law’ allows people to elect to become organ donors on their hunting and finishing licenses.

The law is named after Logan Luft who died in A-T-V accident on July 4, 2017.

Luft’s mother, Wendy, calls the experience working with Iowa legislators ‘amazing.’

Logan donated five major organs.

Wendy says she never wants to have her son’s legacy forgotten.

Democratic Minority Leader Todd Prichard says the family has met with the senate ant its subcommittee  sharing Logan’s story.

It’s passed both levels and is almost ready to become law.

He says extending the law to hunting and finishing licenses embodies Logan’s personality and love for the outdoors.
