951 The Bull Sports Report (6/22)

Several of our local baseball and softball teams were defeated by Mother Nature again yesterday.  The New Hampton Chickasaw softball team had their Northeast Iowa Conference home double-header against Charles City postponed.  Those games will now be played in New Hampton on June 27th.  The Chickasaw softball team will travel to Marion today for a two-day tournament hosted by Linn-Mar.

The New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team had their non-conference game against Jesup cancelled yesterday and the game will not be made-up.  The Chickasaws will be in Northeast Iowa Conference action tonight as they will host Oelwein.  The New Hampton baseball team is 18-3 overall this season and 9-2 in the conference while the Huskies come in at 9-10 and 6-6.  You can tune into the game right here on 951 The Bull tonight starting with a pre-game at about 7:15 and first pitch is scheduled for 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield softball team had their home game against Saint Ansgar postponed until tonight, but the Husky baseball team was able to get their Top of Iowa Conference game in against the Saints.  Nashua lost a high-scoring affair 15-8 to fall to 6-12 overall this season and 4-8 in the conference.  The Nashua baseball team will play again tonight at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura.

The Turkey Valley Trojan baseball team had their Upper Iowa Conference double-header at home against North Fayette Valley postponed last night.  That double-header will be made up tonight.  First pitch of the first game will be at 4pm.

The Turkey Valley Trojan softball team did get their non-conference game at Crestwood in last night.  The Trojans wound up on the losing end of a 10-0 score in five innings.  The Trojan softball team will also take on North Fayette Valley tonight at home in an Upper Iowa Conference double-header.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar softball and baseball teams had their games against Clayton Ridge called off last night.  There is no make-up date set for either game at this point.  The Cougar softball team will be in North Iowa Cedar League action tonight at Grundy Center.  The Sumner-Fred baseball team will next be in action Monday night at Grundy Center.
