In a game heard right here on 951 The Bull last night, the New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team hosted Charles City in a Northeast Iowa Conference match-up.  The Chickasaws jumped ahead early and took a 5-0 lead after three innings.  They were able to then keep pace and win the game 9-4.  Noah Fye had a big night with the bat as he went 3-3 with a triple, two runs scored and four runs batted in and Aden Zwanziger had two hits and three runs scored.  Mason Cleveland picked up the win on the mound as he pitched five innings, gave up one earned run on one hit and struck out four.  The New Hampton baseball team improves to 14-3 overall and they are now 7-2 in the NEIC.  Their next game will be tonight at home against Waterloo Columbus.  You can tune into the game right here on 951 The Bull starting with a pre-game at around 7pm and first pitch will be at about 7:15.

The New Hampton Chickasaw softball team was also at home last night for a non-conference game against Denver.  The Chickasaws were dominant as they ended the game early winning it 13-1 in three innings.  The New Hampton softball team improves to 10-5 on the season and they will play on the road tonight at Nashua-Plainfield.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky baseball and softball teams had their games at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura postponed last night.  The softball game will be made-up on Thursday and they baseball game will now be played on June 22nd.  The Husky softball team will play tonight at home against New Hampton and the Nashua baseball team’s next game will be on Wednesday at home against Forest City.

The Turkey Valley Trojan softball team was at home last night for an Upper Iowa Conference double-header against MFL-Mar-Mac.  Both games were close, but the Trojans were not able to win either of them as they lost the first one 11-8 and then dropped game two 2-1.  The Turkey Valley softball team is now 5-7 overall on the season and they fall to 4-3 in the UIC.  They have another game tonight at home against Decorah.

The Turkey Valley Trojan baseball team was also at home last night for their Upper Iowa Conference double-header against MFL-Mar-Mac.  The Trojans were able to win both games in shutout fashion as they took the first game 10-0 in five innings and then won the second game 8-0.  Cale Reicks went 3-3 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI in game one and Simon Schmitt drove in four runs for the Trojans to back Jordon Snyder who pitched all five innings and struck out five.  In game two, Reicks and Snyder each had two hits and three runs batted in.  Reicks was also brilliant on the mound as he pitched all seven innings, gave up one hit and struck out 11.  The Trojan baseball team is now 7-9 overall and 5-5 in the conference.  Their next games will be tomorrow night at home against South Winneshiek.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg baseball team was at home last night for a North Iowa Cedar League double-header against Waterloo Columbus.  The Cougars won the first game 1-0 and then dropped game two 5-3 for the split.  The Sumner-Fred baseball team moves their overall record to 4-9 and they are 2-8 in the NICL.  They will be back in action tonight at home against Gladbrook-Reinbeck.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar softball team was also at home last night for their North Iowa Cedar League double-header against Waterloo Columbus.  The Cougars went down in defeat both games as they lost the first one 10-1 and fell in game two 7-2.  Sumner-Fred softball is now 11-8 overall on the season and 5-5 in the NICL.  They will play again tonight at home against Kee High.
