951 The Bull Sports Report (6/5)

In some coverage heard right here on 951 The Bull last night, the New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team resumed their Northeast Iowa Conference double-header at home against Decorah.  The first game was resumed in the fifth inning and the Vikings came away with a 7-1 win.  The second game was all Chickasaws as they defeated Decorah 9-1.  In that second game, Aden Zwanziger pitched all seven innings and earned the win.  The New Hampton baseball team is now 10-2 overall and they move to 4-1 in the NEIC.  They will have their next game tonight at home against Waverly-Shell Rock.  You can tune into the game right here on 951 The Bull beginning with a pre-game at 6:45 and first pitch is scheduled for 7pm.

In a game also heard right here on 951 The Bull last night, the New Hampton Chickasaw softball team was at home taking on Waverly-Shell Rock in Northeast Iowa Conference play.  The Chickasaws came out on the losing end of a 4-2 score.  The New Hampton softball team is now 7-3 overall this season and 5-2 in the NEIC.  They will play again tonight as they will host Waterloo Columbus in non-conference play.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky softball team was at Algona Bishop Garrigan last night for a Top of Iowa Conference cross-over game.  The Huskies kept it close as they were trailing just 1-0 after three innings, but Garrigan scored nine runs in the next two innings to win the game 10-0 in five innings.  With the loss, the Nashua softball team is now 3-6 overall this season and they will next be in action tomorrow night in Northwood.

The Nashua-Plainfield baseball team also failed to push any runs across in their game at Algona Bishop Garrigan last night.  The Nashua baseball team was shut out 7-0 to fall to 3-6 overall this season.  They will play a Top of Iowa Conference game tonight at home against Mason City Newman.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar baseball team was at Waukon last night for a non-conference game against the Indians.  The Cougars were defeated 13-5 to fall to 1-7 overall this season.  They will return to North Iowa Cedar League play on Thursday with a double-header against Dike-New Hartford.
