In a couple of games heard right here on 951 The Bull last night, the New Hampton Chickasaw softball team was in Cresco for a Northeast Iowa Conference double-header against the Crestwood Cadets.  The Chickasaws split the double-header as they won the first game 4-1 and then dropped game number two by a final score of 1-0.  The New Hampton softball team is now 5-1 overall this season and they are also 5-1 in the NEIC.  They will be back in Cresco tomorrow for a tournament hosted by the Cadets.

The New Hampton Chickasaw baseball team was at home last night for a non-conference game against Turkey Valley.  The Chickasaws jumped out of the gate in a big way as they scored eight runs in the first inning and then coasted to a 14-1 win in five innings.  Wyatt Stochl led the Chickasaw offense with two hits, two runs scored and three runs batted in and Connor Hackman was the winning pitcher as he threw three innings, gave up no runs on four hits and struck out four.  The New Hampton baseball team is now 6-1 overall this season and they will return to Northeast Iowa Conference play tonight with a double header at Crestwood.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar softball team was at home last night for a North Iowa Cedar League double-header against Aplington-Parkersburg.  In game one, Krayton Allen had two triples, a home run and three runs batted in for the Cougars as they won the game 11-1 in five innings.  Kaylyn Hoth was the winning pitcher as she gave up no earned runs and struck out two.  The second game was all Sumner-Fredericksburg as well as they scored 11 runs in the second inning and ended the game in the third inning via the mercy rule, winning 15-3.  Allen hit another home run in game two and had four RBI and Chantelle Nuss pitched the three innings and struck out three.  The Cougar softball team 4-4 on the season and they are 3-3 in the NICL.  Their next game will be today as they participate in a tournament hosted by North Fayette Valley.
