Floyd County Voters Approve Jail, Law Enforcement Center Referendum

Charles City, Iowa – Floyd County voters have approved a $13.5 million bond referendum that will fund the construction of a new jail and law enforcement center.

The bond issue will fund an addition to the west side of the Courthouse. The project will include a 32-bed jail, communications center, emergency operations center and new offices for Sheriff’s department. The Courthouse will also receive upgrades, including new windows, central heating and cooling and other upgrades.
