2 to 4 inches of snow expected today, Winter Weather Advisory now in effect

Charles City, Iowa – More accumulating snow is expected across the area on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories for:

  • Chickasaw, Fayette and Floyd County from 6am to 6pm Friday
  • Cerro Gordo, Franklin and Worth Counties from 3am until 6pm Friday
  • Bremer and Butler Counties from 6am until 9pm Friday

Forecasters say the snow will move in during the morning, which could have impact on the commute, and last through a large part of the day, before quickly exiting late in the day. Snow amounts of 2-3″ are expected, but could be slightly higher depending on where the snow bands set up.
