February Trial Date Set for Illinois Murder Case

LaSalle County, IL – A murder that took place in Illinois was traced back to a Mason City man. He is set to stand trial in February.

42-year-old Mason Shannon is being accused of killing Michael Castelli. Another man was also believed to have helped kill Castelli. Shannon is being charged with murder and involuntary manslaughter.

The murder happened in July when Castelli was choked to death. This happened in LaSalle County is in the north, central part of Illinois.

Shannon was arrested in Cerro Gordo County and then extradited back to Illinois. His trial date is set for Feb. 26.
