Chickasaw County, IA – A Chickasaw County couple is being charged with murder after they let their baby in a swing to die in August. Their trial dates had been set, but now the father in the case has requested a new trial date.

28-year-old Zachary Koehn and 20-year-old Cheyanne Harris were charged with murder and child endangerment after their baby was found. Both of their court dates were supposed to be held in January, but Koehn has requested that his trial be backed up to March.

4-month-old Sterling Koehn was found dead in a swing in Alta Vista on Aug. 30 of this year. Investigators say that the child hadn’t been moved from the swing in about a week. The parents were charged after their stories contradicted each other.

A new trial date has not been set for Koehn.
