Community Emergency Response Team

Charles City, IA – Severe weather hit Iowa hard this summer and many volunteers took to the streets to help with the damage. The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency is attempting to put together a Community Emergency Response Team or CERT.

This group would act as a support function for all of the emergency responders. Lezlie Weber, director of IA CEM, says more.

There are no specific requirements to become a volunteer for this organization, but all volunteers must go through a training course. This allows for residents of Floyd County to help.

The organization is not just looking for people to join from Charles City, but from all over Floyd County.
