951 The Bull Sports Report (11/13)

The weather is changing and the winter sports teams are gearing up for their 2017 and 2018 seasons.  The girls basketball teams began their practices last Monday and boys basketball and wrestling will begin practices today.  The New Hampton Chickasaw girls basketball team will open up their season a week from tomorrow when they host MFL-Mar-Mac in non-conference action.  The New Hampton wrestling team will get their first meet in on November 28th at home when they welcome in both Charles City and Independence.  The Chickasaw boys basketball team will host Mason City on November 30th for their first game action.

The Nashua-Plainfield girls basketball team will have a home game to kick-off their season on November 21st as they will host Tripoli.  The Husky wrestlers and boys basketball team will have their first action on November 28th when the grapplers will travel to Oelwein for a quadrangular meet and the boys basketball team will have a Top of Iowa Conference contest at Rockford.

The Turkey Valley Trojan girls basketball team will get their season started on November 27th with a non-conference home game against Decorah.  The Trojan boys will have their first game the following night when they play at home against West Central along with the girls.  The Trojan wrestling team combined with New Hampton’s program this year and will have their first action in New Hampton on November 28th as well.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar girls basketball team will have their first game of the season on Friday night when they host Oelwein in non-conference play.  The Cougar wrestlers will be in a double dual on November 30th for their first meet which will be hosted by BCLUW.  The Sumner-Fred boys basketball team will play in their first game on December 1st when they host Wapsie Valley in North Iowa Cedar League play.

The South Winneshiek Warrior girls and boys basketball teams will kick off their seasons on the same night when they participate in a girl/boy Upper Iowa Conference double-header on November 28th at home against Postville.  The Warrior wrestlers will open up their season on November 30th in Waukon with a double dual.
