951 The Bull Sports Report (10/27)

The Iowa High School Athletic Association will begin its football playoffs tonight with first round games being held in all classes.  The New Hampton Chickasaw football team will be at home tonight for their Class 2A playoff opener against Dike-New Hartford.  The Chickasaws went 7-2 overall this season and the Wolverines went 6-3.  You can tune into this game right here on 951 The Bull beginning with a pre-game at 6:30 and kickoff will be at 7pm.

The South Winneshiek Warrior football team will hit the road tonight for their opening round game in the Class 1A postseason.  The Warriors will be in Iowa City to take on Regina.  South Winn comes in winners of six in a row and they are 6-3 overall while Regina finished the season with a 7-2 record.  Kickoff for this game will be at 7pm as well.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union will hold their State Cross Country Meets tomorrow in Fort Dodge.  New Hampton will have a representative in each of the Class 2A races.  Chickasaw juniors Olivia Burke and Nolan Usher will do the honors as Burke will race at 1pm and Usher will have his race at about 1:30.

In the Class 1A races, South Winneshiek’s entire girls team will compete along with Nashua-Plainfield’s Aubrey Einck, and Macy Niewoehner of Sumner-Fredericksburg.  The Class 1A girls race is scheduled to start at 2pm.  The South Winn boys will also race as a team tomorrow in the Class 1A meet.  Nahsua-Plainfield’s Brock Dietz will join them and their race will begin at about 2:30.
