Charles City, Iowa (AP) – A man accused of killing another man in Charles City this summer is asking for his trial to be moved out of Floyd County.

36-year-old Antoine Tyree Williams, of Charles City, filed for a change of venue on Aug. 24, arguing that extensive media coverage of the case has left him unable to get a fair trial in Floyd County. A judge is considering the motion.

Williams is charged with first-degree murder for the June 30 shooting death of 36-year-old Nathaniel Fleming.

Police say Williams shot Fleming, of Mason City, several times before pulling Fleming out of a vehicle and fleeing the scene.
