Charles City, Iowa – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa is putting on a campaign to get 30 little brothers matched up with 30 big brothers by the end of September.
This campaign got kicked off on Sep. 1 and the goal is to get 30 little brothers who have been waiting for a mentor, to find someone to be their brother. Katie Orlando, Chief Executive Officer for the northeast Iowa branch, says more.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa is challenging men in Black Hawk, Bremer, Butler, Floyd Buchanan and Fayette Counties to volunteer and become a brother.
Orlando also says that the adults usually take away more from the experience than the kids. There is an 18 month commitment, but most of these relationships tend to last over five years in northeast Iowa.
