Women’s suffrage celebration to be held at FC Courthouse today

Charles City, Iowa – Floyd County officials along with the 19th Amendment Society and area students will be teaming up for a celebration on women’s suffrage today at the Floyd County Courthouse beginning at 1 p.m. The event is to recognize and honor Carrie Chapman Catt.

19th Amendment Society member Susan Jacob explains.

The program will begin on the third floor of the courthouse before moving to the second floor hallway where artwork will be displayed on the wall across the hall from the Martin Luther King, Jr. display.

The event is open to the public.
