The Turkey Valley Trojan girls basketball team hosted Mason City Newman Catholic last night in a Class 1A Region 3 Quarter-Final.  The second-ranked Trojan girls were able to get the victory last night by a final score of 60-49.  Turkey Valley’s girls are now 19-2 overall this season and they advance to the Regional Semi-Finals which will be held in Charles City on Friday.  The Trojan girls will face West Hancock in that game.

The Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar girls basketball team was in Grundy Center last night for a Class 2A Region 5 Quarter-Final.  The game was tied at the end of regulation and at the end of the first overtime, but the Cougars could not keep pace in the second overtime and dropped the game 65-59.  The Sumner-Fred girls finish their season with a record of 18-5.

The New Hampton Chickasaw wrestling team will kick of the 2017 State Wrestling Tournament today in Des Moines as they will take part in the Class 2A State Duals.  The top-ranked Chickasaws will square off against Denver-Tripoli in the opening round this morning at 9am.  If the Chickasaws win their opening round dual, they will wrestle in the semis at 1pm and then again at 6:30.  You can tune into all of the Chickasaw duals today right here on 951 The Bull with coverage beginning at 8:30 with the Big Guy Neal Stone and Tyler Boos.

The New Hampton Chickasaw girls basketball team will participate in the Class 3A Region 5 Semi-Finals tonight in Cresco.  The New Hampton girls are 15-7 overall this season and they will take on the fourth-ranked Crestwood Cadets who come in with a record of 20-1.  You can tune into live updates of this game tonight as The Big Guy will continuously keep up-to-date score reports during the Chickasaw wrestling broadcast.
