Local Volleyball Recap (10/7)

The Nashua Plainfield volleyball team was able to pull out a five game win over West Fork in Top of Iowa Conference action last night.  With the win, the Huskies improve to 18-6 overall and 7-1 in conference play.  Nashua will play in the Hampton-Dumont tournament on Saturday.

The Turkey Valley Trojan volleyball team was dominant over Postville in an Upper Iowa Conference sweep last night as they won by scores of 25-4, 25-5, and 25-13.  Kayla Schaufenbuel led the Trojan offense with 22 kills on the night and Delaney Lensing finished with 33 assists.  Schaufenbuel also finished the night with 9 ace serves and as a team the Trojans finished with 18 aces.  Turkey Valley volleyball improves to 15-5 overall this season and they move to 5-1 in conference play.  They will next be in action tomorrow night when they host South Winneshiek.

The Sumner Fredericksburg Cougar volleyball team was defeated last night by Dike New Hartford on the road in a battle of top ten teams in Class 2A.  The Wolverines were able to pick up the sweep by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-8.  Jadlin Seehase finished the night with ten kills to lead the Cougars and Jenna Brandt had 21 assists for the Cougars.  Sumner-Fred volleyball falls to 26-3 on the season and they will host Hudson next Tuesday for their next action.
