Des Moines, Iowa – House Democratic Leader Mark Smith of Des Moines has appointed Representative Todd Prichard of Charles City to several key posts for the upcoming 2015 legislative session. Prichard was selected by his peers to serve as an assistant leader earlier this month. He was selected to serve on the Ways and Means, Agriculture, Veterans Affairs, Judiciary, State Government and Administration and Rules committees.
“Rep. Prichard has earned respect of his colleagues in the Iowa House,” said Smith. “He has demonstrated leadership in bringing people together and crossing party lines to reach common sense solutions.”
Representative Todd Prichard was elected to a second term in the Iowa House in November. He is a small business owner and attorney in Charles City at Prichard Law Office, P.C and is a Major in the Army Reserves.
“I am excited to get back to work and start my second term representing the people of Chickasaw, Floyd, and Cerro Gordo counties. My goals are to listen to the people of my district and strengthen our community by boosting small businesses, improving our educational system to ensure students get a world class education, and growing Iowa’s middle class,” said Prichard.
The 86th General Assembly will convene its first day of session on January 12, 2015.
