Floyd Co Supervisors address Courthouse Safety

Charles City, IA – Courthouse Safety was a hot topic at the recent Floyd Co Supervisor meeting, as Active Shooter training and the addition of more and advanced security cameras were both on the agenda. Sheriff Rick Lynch believes the training is important for the courthouse employees and that Rick Busch is very knowledgeable on what needs to be covered:

The supervisors heard from security specialist Rick Busch from Eagle Ridge Tactical Consulting on what sort of training they can expect for courthouse employees:

Training will be scheduled for sometime in late Nov or early Dec.

Radio Communications of Waterloo made a proposal for upgrading the security cameras at the courthouse. More cameras would be added and new features would replace the outdated software and include facial recognition. Lynch addressed some of issues that were discussed:

The supervisors were advised that the current surveillance system is obsolete and they requested that Radio Communications come back with some numbers to discuss on various options that were presented.
