Volunteers needed for watering bike

CHARLES CITY, IA – Community Revitalization is seeking additional volunteers to help man the watering bicycle and water the flower pots along Main Street in Charles City. The Charles City FFA students have done a great job with it this spring and summer, having fun doing it along the way, but with State Fair and the start of school in August they have other time commitments resulting in some openings for other volunteers. The low-geared watering bike is  very easy to peddle and operate, making it ideal for a variety of ages, and can be ridden on the sidewalk. Great exercise and a wonderful community service project. Watering can be done at any time of the day, at the volunteer’s convenience.

If interested in learning more or willing to assist, please contact Mark Wicks at the Charles City Community Development Office, 228-2335 or e-mail mark@charlescitychamber.com.
