Iowa Author Researches Chickasaw County

Carnegie Cultural Center NH

NEW HAMPTON-An Iowa author will visit the New Hampton Carnegie Cultural Center on Wednesday to research material for an upcoming book.

Linda McCann is an author who researches and writes books about Iowa history.  She is working on a series of books regarding “lost towns” in each of Iowa’s counties.  Carnegie Cultural Center Director, Juanita Andersen says local “history-minded” residents are encouraged to join McCann at the Center to help with her research.

McCann has visited the Carnegie Cultural Center before. Andersen says she has spent many hours going through archives to complete her research.

Andersen says people that hold items deemed as “lost treasures” of the county are encouraged to attend.

McCann will meet with area residents on Wednesday at 1:30p.m. at the Cultural Center.
